Teen Camp offers a week of engaging art activities that are specially designed for older student artists. Work with new artistic processes, tools, and concepts that push the boundaries of art-making and promote creative problem-solving through experimentation.
Digital Collage

Inspired by the work of visiting artist Ann Diener, students will learn collage making, then execute their designs using iPads.
Printmaking Lab

Students will use block printing to tell a story, inspired by the printmaking of Marion Osborn Cunningham, on view in Seventy Years of Inspiration: The Story of the Bakersfield Museum of Art.
Jewelry Week

It's Jewelry Week! Students will use copper wire to create rings, bracelets, and more, embellished with semi-precious stones and beads, all inspired by Copper Trees inside Ann Diener's Greenhouse.
Impressionist Painters
July 20 - 24

Students will use watercolor and acrylic paint, with visible brushstrokes, to capture the fleeting effects of light and color, just like the Impressionist artists of the 1870s-1880s. This week's inspiration comes from the summer 2026 ArtWorks exhibition Becoming.

Additional Class Information
Students will take one 30-minute break each day. Snacks will not be provided, students are encouraged to bring their own. Students who arrive late to class will miss out on important steps and may be expected to catch up on their own. Out of consideration for our staff schedules, we ask that all students be picked up on time. BMoA reserves the right to charge a late fee of $1/minute after 10 minutes. Please refer to our class policies for more information regarding drop-off/pick-up, cancellations, and other program policies. Class space is limited.
