Jun Yang: Blooming Journeys

September 28, 2023 to January 6, 2024

Supported by City of Bakersfield and
Ray Lapointe & Matthew Reedy

Born in Seoul, South Korea, Jun Yang now calls San Francisco his home. The city inspires Jun and his art with its cultural diversity, celebrated urban landscape, natural beauty, and socially inclusive culture that provides support and protection. Blooming Journeys seeks to create a healing and therapeutic atmosphere that allows guests to reflect on their own personal adversities through the artist’s vulnerable portrayal of his struggles and life journey. Brightly painted portraits, bold shapes, and floral motifs are integral to his narrative, intertwining his personal experience with themes of identity, self-discovery, and growth.
