Portraiture has a rich tradition, from documentation in ancient Egypt to artistic expression in the 20th century through today.

This exhibition celebrates the inherent freedom in and value of self-expression
— Victor Gonzales, BMoA Curator of Collections & Exhibitions

The BMoA community has at its core a passion for the visual arts, a pursuit all human beings can share.

Faces of Pride captures through portraiture the joy, authenticity, bravery, and love within and for the local LGBTQ+ community.

In this exhibition, more than 20 individuals from the local queer community and allies responded to one question: “What does Pride mean to you?”

This exhibition is part of our month-long celebration of the freedom in and value of self expression during National Pride Month, which concludes with Art After Dark Celebrates Pride on June 29th.
