Step-By-Step

2. Hand Prints.jpg

1. Parents will lay out supplies in preparation for students. If possible, cover your table with some newspaper. It could get messy.

2. With a brush ready, have students choose a color they would like to paint their entire palms with. Either parent or student can paint palm of hand fully with paint.

3. With palm fully painted, have your student place the entire hand on the paper/canvas to create a hand print. Continue this method while rotating the paper/canvas. This method creates a “flower” image, with the fingers being the petals and the palm being the center of the “flower”.

4. Students can use several colors and add thicker paints on some parts of the petal to create a textured petal.

4. Glue .jpg

5. Once your painting is dry, take the glue and add a small amount on the pompom. Place your pompom in the center of the flower to create some texture. Feel free to use any other types of embellishments that you already have on hand. The point is to get creative!
