Kids Camp 2018
Ages 6-11

Kids Camp at BMoA offers children ages 6-11 a place to explore, create and play while learning about artists, different mediums, and new artistic techniques. Each week of camp is a different theme (listed below). Art Camp is from Monday through Friday with lessons based on the week's theme so students can really involve themselves in the proposed art concept. Each day students will rotate between three different instructors learning three different lessons. Concluding the camp, all participating students will have a piece of art on display in our Summer Art Camp Exhibition held at the Museum on August 3rd.

Creature Creations

June 11 - June 15
8:30AM - 12:30PM
Media include paper mache, foil, glue, clay and paint.

Learn the fundamentals of sculpture art, and create animals out of different materials.


June 18 - June 22
8:30AM - 12:30PM
Media include pen, markers, ink, colored pencils and more.

Students will create their own posters using letters to enhance drawing and composition.


Collage Me This!

June 25 - June 29
8:30AM - 12:30PM
Media include paper, vinyl, newspaper, magazines, glue, and paint.

Sessions will revolve around discovering the art of collage and exploring its different methods.

Printing Magic

July 16 - July 20
8:30AM - 12:30PM
Media include using screen boards, ink, paint, and stencils.

Students will design various patterns to make stencils which will then be used to create works of art.


Still Life Drawing

July 23 - July 27
8:30AM - 12:30PM
Media include paint, charcoal, and colored pencil.

Learn the basics of implying three-dimensional form on a flat surface.


July 30 - August 3
8:30AM - 12:30PM
Media include ink, marker, and colored pencil.

Students will create their own pop-up book and learn about storyboarding and plot construction.

Class Information

Classrooms will rotate between three different instructors and students will take two 10-minute breaks each day and will have a 30-minute break for snacks. Snacks will not be provided, but students are encouraged to bring their own. Students who arrive late to class will miss out on important steps and may be expected to catch up on their own. Out of consideration for our staff schedules, we ask that all students be picked up on time. BMoA reserves the right to charge a late fee of $1/minute after 10 minutes. Please refer to our class policies for more information regarding drop-off/pick-up, cancellations, and other program policies. Class space is limited.

Kids Camp Registration

Members: $120 (per week)
Non-members: $140 (per week)

Registration closes at 2 PM on Thursday before each week or until filled.
