ARTWORKS 2009

After the success of the 2008 ARTWORKS program, the Museum is readying for the 2009 program.

ARTWORKS is a program for high school juniors and seniors who have a strong interest in the visual arts. It is a semester-long program consisting of seven meetings focusing on developing and enhancing artistic skills while providing a broad spectrum of handson visual arts enrichment activities.

Community arts components and issues such as portfolio design, local gallery and studio tours, arts event planning andexhibit and curatorial duties are explored. Students will participate in the Kern County Student Art Show, attend a Preview Circle event and Museum exhibit opening, help with a Free Family Day and design their own art exhibit as their final project.

High school art instructors areencouraged to assist interested students in applying and participants are selected after an interview process. Applications are available online at www.bmoa.org.
