Museum on the Move
Museum on the Move takes the arts to sites throughout Kern County such as community houses, after school programs, and activity leagues, reaching ages kindergarten to adult. During the hour-long session, a BMOA instructor presents an art lesson and project introducing the class to important artists, art theory and art movements. Museum on the Move provides students with a means for self-expression and an avenue to see themselves, their heritage, and their environment in a whole new way.
Partnering with organizations and corporate sponsors, BMOA is able to create programming that aligns with specific areas and giving priorities. During the 2015-2016 Academic Year:
California Resources Corporation's (CRC) support will enable over 5,000 students in Shafter and Arvin to receive Museum on the Move in 2016.
Aera Energy's support will allow Museum on the Move to reach more than 200 students in Taft in 2016.
Support from the BNSF Railway Foundation provides free programming for students throughout the Bakersfield area.
Support from The County of Kern provides free programming for students throughout the Bakersfield area.
